Since The Princes Centre began in 2012, KCCT has been by its side supporting it. The Princes Centre is an award-winning community-run day care centre in Princes Risborough and Bourne End.
The KCCT has supported the centre on a regular basis, and founder Peter Cullimore was by the organisation’s side during its first 12 years. A regular visitor to the centre, he saw first-hand the support it offered and what it meant to so many people.
Peter helped with promoting the service and recognized where the centre needed help and support. He became Patron of the charity in 2015 and adapted into the role with great pride and presence. He was able to network for the centre and introduced it to many notable people in the communities, who in turn helped and supported it.
Initially, Peter supported the centre by donating to certain projects, then he explained the KCCT and allowed the centre to approach the charity on a regular basis. This helped the centre enormously in ways that allowed it to create different opportunities for its clients.
KCCT facilitated the purchase of The Princes Centre’s first car, enabling staff to take clients on small trips without relying on specified drivers for the large minibus. The trust also contributed towards the installation of double glazing, which, due to its expense, had to be completed in stages as and when the centre could afford. Additionally, a significant donation from KCCT allowed for a complete refurbishment of the lower day care area. When the project was completed, the centre chose Peter himself to officially open it.
Peter also demonstrated support for The Princes Centre’s second day care centre in Bourne End, being a regular visitor and showing ongoing interest. KCCT further supported the centre by providing a wet room and solar panels for the Bourne End facility.
